The very last of the air-cooled 2 stroke motorcycles. The world was banning 2 stroke motorcycles because of emissions control and Yamaha just kept on going, beating the EPA off every year by making small tweaks to their very popular RD400. By 1979 it seemed that Yamaha gave the EPA the finger and built an RD even quicker than the previous year’s version. These bikes had a very stiff frame and a very torquey engine which made them a super nice ride and they also gave them a really sporty look with the Daytona paint ducktail and striping. Capable of annihilating bikes more than twice their capacity. They were revered by many. This bike is in exceptional condition, all original paint and accessories, only having travelled 7000 original miles. Runs and rides like new, absolute blue chip investment.
